La Terrazza sits on the ninth floor of The Dillon in downtown Raleigh, a southern Italian and Mediterranean restaurant built around a wall of glass and a skyline that shifts color as the evening goes on. The kitchen serves dinner, and private events are arranged on their own schedule, separate from the regular reservation book.
The dining room runs floor-to-ceiling glass on its outward-facing side, so the room and the city trade places depending on the hour and where you sit. Two bars anchor the space, one just inside the glass and one out on the patio, and the evening moves naturally between them.
A wedding dinner here is about height and light, nine floors above the city. The restaurant books private dining for groups of 25 guests or more, with the option to take over the whole floor for a larger night.
The Private Rooms
Two rooms handle private dining, the Manhattan Room and the Flower Room, which together seat up to 120 guests. The two open into each other for larger groups, combining into one room for events too big for either space alone. Each private room rental runs a three-hour window, with additional time available beforehand for setup.
The Patio and the Skyline
The patio faces downtown Raleigh from nine stories up, open to the sky and framed by the towers around it. Because it depends on the weather, the patio is not rented on its own for private dining, but it is visible from the dining room's glass wall at every hour. A full restaurant buyout takes the entire daypart.
The Kitchen
The menu is southern Italian and Mediterranean, built on seasonal ingredients and market-fresh produce, and the restaurant sets private event menus apart from its regular dinner service for groups booking the space. A seated private dinner runs appetizer, salad, a main course, and dessert, with a grazing menu of appetizers offered instead for a cocktail-style event.
What We Design Here
Glass changes what floral design has to do. Every arrangement here sits in front of a window, so the work has to hold its shape against a skyline, and against light that runs from daylight to dusk to the warm interior glow of a dinner service. We build for that shift: pieces that read clearly in silhouette as the light drops, and colors warm enough to stand up to the terracotta and brass already in the room.
Up here, every centerpiece is seen in silhouette against the skyline. To keep the view open, we lean toward pieces that gain presence from density and color, low enough to talk across the table and still hold the room. On the patio, anything used has to move well in open air, with nothing up there to break the wind. Texture carries the room after dark, when the skyline turns to a field of small lights and heavier, more tactile arrangements show up best.
Practical
The Dillon Parking Deck at 215 S West Street is attached to the building, and several other downtown lots sit within a few blocks. Private event inquiries go through the restaurant's events team.
