The Linden Manor sits on 40 acres just south of downtown Hillsborough. The property is a manor house and open grounds booked as a single package: a front lawn, a pool and garden area, and wide-open fields to choose among for a ceremony, and a bridal suite on the top floor of the house for getting ready.
The venue plans each wedding through one-on-one consultations on the property. Couples pick a ceremony site from the property's open ground, then use a tool the venue provides to map the event layout across the property before the day arrives. Because the acreage is large, the ceremony and the reception can each have their own part of the property.
Choosing a Ceremony Site
The front lawn, the pool and garden area, and the estate's open fields are the three ceremony settings the venue offers. Each reads differently: the lawn sits in view of the house, the garden setting sits beside the pool, and the fields give a ceremony open ground behind the couple.
The Bridal Suite
The suite occupies the top floor of the manor house. It has a private bathroom and a breakfast nook, along with hooks for dresses, a vanity, and enough open floor space for the wedding party to do hair and makeup together before the ceremony.
The Wedding Day
The venue's package covers use of the estate for up to 12 hours on the wedding day, 2 one-on-one consultations beforehand, use of the property for bridal portraits, and up to 1.5 hours of rehearsal time. Couples get access the day before for decoration drop-off. On the day, a venue host is on-site and coordinates directly with the couple's rental company, and interior space in the manor is set aside for storing and staging decor. The venue also hosts related events on the property, including bridal showers and engagement parties, and can arrange overnight stays for the wedding party as an add-on.
What We Design Here
The lawn, the garden area, and the open fields each set a different scale for design. A lawn ceremony sits close to the house and reads at a modest distance, the garden setting carries its own planting to build around, and the open fields put a ceremony against open ground, which calls for larger, more substantial work that can carry across that much open space.
Indoors, the bridal suite is a small, close room, well suited to soft, detailed work sized for a vanity and a breakfast nook. Storage set aside in the manor and the venue's own coordination with the couple's rental company give us the lead time to move material across the property between the suite, the lawn, the pool garden, and the fields. Palette and texture can carry from the small scale of the suite to the large scale of a field ceremony as one continuous idea.
Practical
The Linden Manor is a short drive south of downtown Hillsborough. Parking is worth confirming with the venue when you book. Dates and a walk of the property are arranged with the venue directly.
