The Longleaf occupies a building originally a Travelodge in the 1960s, rebuilt as a boutique hotel. The renovation kept the bones: starshine breeze blocks that had been hidden for years behind stucco are now exposed across the property.
The property is small in the way a boutique hotel is small: a lounge and patio at street level, guest rooms above, and an inquiry form for anyone who wants to book the space for a group or private occasion.
The Lounge and Patio
The Longleaf Lounge is the hotel's public room, a bar pouring wine, cocktails, and local beer, with bar snacks from a local chef. The lounge runs a regular calendar of comedy nights and live music, the kind of schedule that makes the room a neighborhood bar as much as a hotel amenity. The patio opens off the lounge with spots to gather or sit apart, and it is used for both casual evenings and the group events the hotel books directly.
The Rooms
Rooms range from a 230- to 250-square-foot standard king up to a king suite of more than 500 square feet, with a separate living room, a fold-down sofa that doubles as a queen bed, and two bathrooms. Interiors use solid wood details and custom art. For a wedding weekend, the practical fact is that guests can walk from a room to the lounge without leaving the building.

The starshine breeze-block pattern repeats across the property at a scale that suits the hotel's small rooms, so floral work reads best at a similar scale: a few considered pieces, each placed with care.
Color here comes best from the building itself: warm neutrals, terracotta, and a deep green that looks rich against the concrete. The wood tones and limited material palette in the rooms call for the same discipline at a smaller scale.
