The Magnolia Inn occupies the Oscar G. Smith House, a Queen Anne Victorian built during Clayton's railroad and agriculture years and now listed on the National Register of Historic Places within the Clayton Historic District. Columned porches and intricate woodwork run through the house. It sits in a walkable stretch of downtown Clayton, close to the restaurants and shops on the surrounding blocks.
The inn runs as a bed and breakfast and books out as a private wedding property, with 7 guest rooms available for the couple and their wedding party to book out along with the event spaces.
The Grand Parlor
The Grand Parlor is the indoor ceremony room and also where the wedding party gets ready earlier in the day. It is sized for an intimate seated ceremony, and it opens into the historic parlors used for dining and reception once the chairs come out.
The Courtyard and the Porch
A private courtyard and a covered wraparound porch give couples two outdoor ceremony settings, one open to the sky and one sheltered.
The Wedding Weekend
The inn's estate wedding weekend runs from Friday afternoon through Sunday brunch: a welcome event or rehearsal dinner to open the weekend, a bridal breakfast and ceremony on Saturday, and a farewell brunch before Sunday checkout. The inn comfortably accommodates 14 overnight guests at standard double occupancy, with additional sleeping arrangements available for up to 19. The inn also books shorter formats: a ceremony-only booking, a single estate wedding day with reception, and elopements for 2 to 20 people.
What We Design Here
The Grand Parlor's original woodwork and trim already carry the room's detail, and it was built for close conversation. Arrangements here are best kept dense and low, so a guest seated across the room can still see who they are talking to, and set in materials that echo the house: aged metal, glass, wood tones that sit near the original finishes.
Outdoors, we build the ceremony point simply in both the courtyard and the porch, since both are lovely as they are, and save the fuller work for the tables once the room turns over to dinner.
Practical
The inn is in downtown Clayton, within walking distance of the shops and restaurants nearby. Parking includes a private lot at the inn plus free street parking. The inn's events team handles availability and package details directly.
