The Hudson Manor Estate sits on nearly 70 acres of pasture, woods, and farmland in Franklin County, built around a Manor House that architect M.S. Davis designed in 1916 for Charles T. Hudson. The estate has a private 5-acre lake, and it has hosted weddings on the property since 2004.
A wedding day here moves across three buildings and the grounds between them. The Manor House holds the wedding party while they dress, with light refreshments served during preparation. The chapel, the veranda, or the lake-facing garden takes the ceremony. The Grand Ballroom holds the reception. The estate books one wedding a day, and usually just one a weekend, with rehearsals set for Fridays, so the grounds belong to a single couple on their date.
The Chapel
Built on the estate and kept climate-controlled year-round, the chapel runs over 2,000 square feet with views over the lake. It works as the primary ceremony room or as the indoor fallback for a couple who planned to marry outside.
The Grand Ballroom
The ballroom carries five-foot crystal chandeliers under a 14-foot tray ceiling, with large framed mirrors, plank flooring underfoot, and colored LED uplighting. Six sets of French doors open the room to the verandas and the porch on the field side. The covered veranda beyond those doors has cushioned lounge seating and string lighting run through the surrounding trees, so the reception can spill outside between courses.
The Lakeview Garden and Grounds
For an outdoor ceremony, the garden overlooks the estate's private lake, with the water and the tree line standing in as the setting. The same grounds serve portraits and engagement sessions before the wedding day itself. Between the chapel, the veranda, and the garden, a couple has three distinct ceremony settings on one property, with the chapel doubling as weather cover for either outdoor option.
What We Design Here
The ballroom's chandeliers, mirrors, and plank floor read formal and evening-weight, the kind that carry structured, substantial arrangements at scale without getting lost under the ceiling height. Outside, the lake and open pasture ask for a looser hand, work that reads at a distance and holds its shape in the open air.
Because the day crosses from the Manor House to the chapel or garden to the ballroom, we build florals that read as one story across three settings: a smaller, personal treatment for where the couple dresses, a ceremony piece sized to the chapel or the garden's open sky, and a reception program built for the ballroom's chandeliers and mirrors and for the veranda light once the doors are open.
