Amazing Graze Barn is a converted dairy barn on First Fruits Farm, a 1,000-acre working farm in Louisburg, in Franklin County. The family that runs the farm renovated the barn starting in 2018, and the building still carries the proportions of a working structure: heavy timber framing, a hay trolley left in place overhead, and a 2-story layout that separates the day into two distinct rooms. The farm around it is real and working, with open pasture, tree lines, and ponds that reach the property's edge.
Ceremonies happen upstairs, in what was once the hay loft: a room with 20-foot ceilings and a large window behind the altar that frames the fields outside. The reception moves downstairs afterward, into a room built to hold a full evening: dinner, a dance floor, a bar, and a band or DJ, with a covered patio opening off it for guests who want the outside air and the farm's sunset.
The Barn
The building is about 7,500 square feet across its two floors. Round tables, white metal chairs, floor-length white linens, and a set of farmhouse tables for the sweetheart table, cake, buffet, gifts, and sign-in are included with every rental. Some packages add a wedding management team that handles planning meetings, the timeline, vendor communication, and setup and teardown of decor, while others leave that coordination to the couple. Couples also draw from the venue's own decor inventory, described on the site as running into the thousands of pieces, included with the rental, with a design consultation to help sort through it.
The Farm
Beyond the barn, the ceremony can move outdoors to any of several fixed spots the venue has built into the land: a cedar arbor on the lawn above the pond, a centuries-old oak tree, a pier over the water for something smaller, and a wooded grove for shade. Parking is in an open field near the barn, so guests walk in across the grass from the lot. A pergola with a fire pit, outdoor games, and a catering prep kitchen with a built-in bar round out what sits outside the barn's four walls.
For couples who want to stay on the land past the reception, First Fruits Farm operates a small set of overnight rentals under the name FarmStay: a 2-bedroom cottage that sleeps up to 8, a cabin positioned directly over the lake, and two more cabins beside it, each with its own dock. The Graze Cottage sleeps up to 8; the venue publishes no guest count for the cabins. Guests book these stays through the farm's own reservation system.
What We Design Here
The barn's timber and working history ask for arrangements with weight and texture: full, structural pieces that hold their own against exposed beams and the open field beyond every window. Upstairs, where the ceiling runs high and the light comes through one window behind the couple, a single generous piece at the altar anchors the room, framed by that one window. Downstairs, in the low light of an evening reception, centerpieces do better with density and a warm, earthy palette, honey, rust, deep green, cream, that stays legible under the room's lighting after dark. Outside, the arbor, the oak, the pier and the grove are open settings, so ceremony pieces there are built with the scale to stand up to all that sky and water.
Practical
Amazing Graze Barn sits in Louisburg, north of Raleigh in Franklin County, and the venue markets itself to couples across the wider region, from Wake Forest and Franklinton to Henderson and Oxford. Parking is on site in an open field, and the site notes additional lodging in the town of Louisburg nearby. Any licensed, insured full-service caterer may work the event; outside food and drink is allowed only before the ceremony, and glass bottles are not permitted. Music has a set end time each evening, earlier on weeknights than on Friday and Saturday. Tours are by appointment, Monday through Thursday.
