The Currinton occupies the former Lucknow Department Store in downtown Dunn, renovated in 2015. The venue opened in August 2021 as a single-room space built for gatherings smaller than a hotel ballroom asks for: a wedding, a rehearsal dinner, a bridal luncheon, a family reunion.
The room itself is compact by design. A base floor of 1,140 square feet carries the main event, with a 342-square-foot loft above it that opens as an upgrade on some booking plans. Two bathrooms and a catering prep area with a refrigerator and freezer round out the footprint, and the ceremony, dinner and dancing all happen under one roof.
The Room
The main floor is a single open room. The rental includes round tables and chairs, with more of both when the loft is booked; ask the venue for its guest capacity. The balcony gives guests a second view over the floor below.
What We Design Here
One room this small shows every extra stem. The ceiling height and the loft's balcony line give a florist two levels to work with in one room, so an installation over the floor reads from below and from above at once. Because the space is intimate, we focus on close, detailed work: personal flowers and low centerpieces hold up to the kind of attention a small room invites, where every table sits close enough to the room's edges to be enjoyed in detail.
The open floor of a converted commercial building takes structure well: dense, architectural arrangements at the entry and ceremony point, lighter and looser work at the tables so the room does not feel crowded before the guests arrive. When the loft is booked, we plan for both vantage points, so the ceremony pieces look just as good from the balcony rail as from the floor.
Practical
Dunn is in Harnett County, south of Raleigh. Parking and area lodging are worth confirming with the venue when you book. Plans, availability, and booking details are handled by the venue through its own site.
