The Willard sits on the seventh floor of the AC Hotel Raleigh Downtown, on Glenwood Avenue where Glenwood South meets the Warehouse District. It is a working rooftop lounge and restaurant with two outdoor terraces and an indoor ballroom, all facing the same skyline, and weddings are booked into a space that already runs a bar and kitchen every night of the week.

A couple gets a room with its own staff and its own service rhythm, and the skyline is seven floors up and already lit by the time dinner starts.

The Horizon Ballroom

Indoors, the ballroom is floor-to-ceiling glass facing the skyline. It splits into two rooms, Horizon I and Horizon II, or combines into one for a bigger event. Horizon I holds 56 seated or 65 for a reception. Horizon II holds 48 seated or 60 for a reception. Combined, the Horizon Ballroom holds 104 seated or 125 for a reception, with the city filling the windows on every side.

Glenwood Terrace

Outside, Glenwood Terrace is heated, built for a Raleigh evening in any season. Booked as a semi-private section it seats 13 or holds 15 for a reception; booked in full it seats 26 or holds 30 for a reception. It is the smaller of the two settings and the more exposed one, closer to the open sky and the street below.

Ballroom and Terrace, Combined

For a wedding that needs the whole floor, the ballroom and terrace combine into one continuous footprint: 104 seated, or up to 200 guests for a reception that moves between the glass room and the open terrace over the course of an evening. This is the largest configuration the venue offers.

The Food

The kitchen serves small plates with a Spanish accent alongside a cocktail list, wine program, and local beer, all handled in-house. The menu is made for sharing, so a reception here keeps moving. Guests drift and mingle over small plates, and dinner becomes part of the party.

What We Design Here

In a room made of glass and skyline, the flowers can afford to be quiet. Indoors, the windows are the view, so arrangements stay low and clear of the sightline. We work in a few strong colors and let pieces with weight and structure anchor each table.

Outside, wind and open sky change the math. Anything on a terrace table needs enough mass in the vessel to stay put in a breeze, and color reads differently against sky than it does against a wall: saturated tones carry into early evening, pale ones wash out once the light goes gold. On the terrace, we set a ceremony structure so the skyline sits inside its frame. Inside the ballroom, the instinct is restraint: clean lines, and arrangements that echo the room's geometry.

Practical

The venue is downtown, on Glenwood Avenue, a short walk from the rest of Glenwood South and the Warehouse District. It sits roughly 13 miles from Raleigh-Durham International Airport. The AC Hotel Raleigh Downtown has 146 guest rooms available above the event space for a wedding block. The Willard's own team handles availability, pricing, and floor plans directly.
