Thorndale Oaks sits on a landscaped property in Oxford, built around stonework, terrazzo floors, and antique chandeliers through the interior spaces. Family owned, with exclusive use of the venue and grounds for 12 hours.
The venue is all-inclusive: an on-site executive chef handles catering, a full bar operates under the venue's own ABC permits, and professional waitstaff are part of the package. A day-of coordinator is available on request.
The Interior
Stonework runs along the interior walls, and terrazzo runs underfoot. Antique chandeliers hang overhead, and archways mark the transitions between rooms as guests move from ceremony to reception to dancing. Two of the five ceremony sites are indoors.
Gold-padded Chiavari chairs and 60-inch round tables are included in the rental, and farm tables with decorative wood chairs are available as an alternative look. The reception runs across multiple dance areas.
The Grounds
Outside, patios extend from the building around a stone fireplace, with stone walls and walkways leading toward a pond and its water fountain. Two of the property's ceremony sites are covered outdoor locations, and a fifth is an open-air chapel, so couples choosing to marry outdoors have more than one setting to pick from. A fire pit is lit on reception nights when weather allows, with an attendant and firewood included.
What We Design Here
The stonework and terrazzo already set the room's structure, so florals look best when they pick up those tones: warm neutrals and deep, saturated color against the pale floors, with enough scale to hold their own beneath the archways and chandeliers. Because the reception moves across more than one dance area, repeating a smaller design language at each threshold gives the evening a sense of continuity as guests move through the building.
Outdoors, the pond, the stone walls, and the fire pit are already a finished backdrop, so ceremony and cocktail-hour work can stay closer to the ground: low, textural pieces along a ledge or an arbor that let the water and the stone take the eye.
