Location: 1003 Carlee Farm Road, Oxford, NC 27565 Capacity: Up to 150 guests Type: Barn, Farm Website: carleefarm.com
Carlee Farm is a working farm in Oxford, North Carolina, purchased by its owners in 2012, that became a wedding venue after a family wedding held on the property drew requests from other couples who wanted the same setting. It sits in Granville County, north of Wake Forest, Raleigh, and Durham, in a stretch of the Triangle where pasture and open sky still define the view.
The property offers both an outdoor ceremony site and a spacious indoor ceremony area, so couples have a plan for any weather. Donkeys and goats live on the farm and are available to greet guests, weather permitting, a sweet reminder that this is a working farm.
The Barn
The barn is the venue's reception space, set up for up to 150 guests. The rental includes 10 custom farm tables, round tables, and 200 Chiavari chairs, along with a stock of up-to-date decor, table runners in a range of colors, and dish rentals so couples can dress their tables from what the farm already has on hand. Two changing areas in the barn's lofts give each wedding party its own space to get ready in privacy on the day.
The Grounds
Ceremonies take place outdoors on the property, with 200 white wooden chairs set for seating, or move to the indoor ceremony area if weather requires it. Parking attendants direct arriving guests.
What We Design Here
A barn with real wood walls and farm tables calls for florals with weight and texture: low, dense work on the tables that looks handsome on the raw grain and keeps every face in view down the row, and larger-scale pieces where the room's proportions can carry them. Because the space is used for both ceremony and reception, we plan a palette that reads the same in daylight at the outdoor site and under the barn's interior light later in the evening, so the flowers at the ceremony and in the barn feel like one design. Color sits easily next to wood, hay, and pasture here; the structure can stay loose. Because the farm keeps its own table runners on hand in a range of colors, we often build the rest of the palette around the runner a couple has already chosen, which gives the planning a friendly head start.
Practical
Carlee Farm is north of the core Triangle, within reach of Raleigh, Durham, and Wake Forest. The farm allows alcohol when served by a licensed, insured caterer or bartender, and couples may bring their own beer and wine under that arrangement. A day-of coordinator is included with the venue fee. The farm keeps a list of recommended vendors and welcomes outside vendors who sign its vendor agreement, meet its requirements, and attend a pre-event meeting with the farm. Events run from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., with music and cleanup finished by 11 and the building vacated by noon the next day; Saturday dates book up furthest in advance, and weekday dates typically stay open longer. The venue's own team handles booking, availability, and vendor coordination directly.
