Mini Acres Farm sits less than 10 minutes from downtown Raleigh, and it is a working farm first, a wedding venue second. The same family has run it for years, on land that began as 10 acres of wooded ground before it grew into a pick-your-own blueberry operation and, later, a place for weddings and events. The farm's own calendar of planting, picking and tending animals carries on right alongside the weddings. Outside of weddings, the property also hosts smaller private gatherings, from birthday parties to corporate retreats, on the days it is not booked for a ceremony. The farm states its purpose plainly on its own site: give people a good place for a wedding or event, and give the surrounding community some hands-on time with a working farm along the way.
A ceremony here happens on working ground, close to the city, with none of the usual trade-off between the two.
The Pavilion
The farm's pavilion is the covered structure on the property; outside wedding bookings it is also rented for classes that need no tables or chairs, yoga among them. A tour is the way to see the layout and how a guest count fits it.
The Fields
Close to 650 blueberry bushes cover the ground around the pavilion, rabbiteye varieties planted by the same family that runs the weddings. The rows open to the public for picking through the summer, so a wedding here shares its calendar with the same fields that supply that crowd. They are a working crop on a working schedule. Goats and miniature donkeys share the property too.
What We Design Here
Here the farm leads, and the flowers follow its easy, outdoor feel. We build arrangements with weight and texture that feel freshly gathered: loose, structural shapes in warm, earthy color, ivory and blush against deep green, with gold and rust tones that stand up to wood and open sky. We think in scale here. One generous piece on a farm table does the talking, and the light moves fast outdoors, so we plan color for late afternoon into evening. The blueberry rows and the animals give the property a built-in seasonal cue, so the work leans green and fruit-toned through the summer and warmer and more muted once picking season ends.
The pavilion's open sides leave the florals to set the formality: an arch or a frame at the front for the ceremony, work along the posts where they need softening, arrangements low enough on the tables to keep sightlines to the fields beyond. Outside, the work stays sparser and more scattered, small pieces that sit comfortably beside the berry rows and grazing animals.
Practical
Weddings can be booked any day of the week: separate packages cover Friday through Sunday and Monday through Thursday dates, and the farm also takes on microweddings and elopements of 10 guests or fewer outside those packages. Booking and setup questions go through the farm's own site. Parking, lodging and rain plans are questions for a tour or a call.
