Morris Peaceland Farm is a working family farm that has been in the same hands since 1999, when the owners bought the 13 acres it still sits on. In 2016 they began dismantling a barn built in the 1950s and used its weathered wood to finish a new one: walls, doors, the bride's and groom's rooms, the restrooms, the kitchen, the bar, the stairs, even the furniture. The project was finished the following summer, along with a dock built out over the farm's pond for ceremonies.
That history is why the place reads as lived-in. The wood in the barn is salvage from a structure that stood for decades before this one. A large pavilion on the property carries the same reclaimed material.
The Barn
The barn's interior is finished floor to ceiling in barn wood pulled from the original structure, so the grain, the nail holes, and the weathering are the real record of a building that predated this one. The bride's and groom's rooms, the kitchen, the bar, and the stairs were all built from the same salvage, which keeps the whole interior in one material and one palette.
The Pond and Dock
The farm pond has a fountain, and the dock built out over the water in 2017 is where ceremonies take place.
The Grounds
The 13 acres hold the barn, the pavilion, and the pond. The farm describes itself as private and set apart from the surrounding area, as if miles away in the country.
What We Design Here
A room finished entirely in reclaimed wood already has plenty to look at. We keep arrangements warm and a little loose here, working in tones that sit close to the wood itself: cream, warm gold, dusty pink, and deep green, so the color feels pulled straight from the barn. In this room texture does the work, and loose, natural shapes suit its easy character.
At the dock, the water and the sky already carry the scene. We keep ceremony florals low and close to the structure itself, an arrangement at the entrance to the dock, something small where the couple stands, so the reflection on the pond stays in view. We want the ceremony to feel like the people you love, gathered at the edge of a farm pond.
Practical
The venue is wheelchair accessible, and couples who want the property for more than a single day can inquire about a full weekend rental. The farm keeps a preferred vendor list, and using it is optional. Wedding packages come in micro, base, and full versions, with a day-of planner available as an add-on to the micro and full packages; pricing and full package details are provided directly by the venue on request.
