Chatham Station is a single open room in a renovated industrial building in downtown Cary, 4,500 square feet under a 13-foot ceiling, with 7 floor-to-ceiling bay doors along one wall that fold back to let in daylight and the street outside. The brick is exposed, the ceiling is finished plain white, and the venue has been part of downtown Cary for eight years, and it is family owned and run locally.
The rental is the whole footprint at once: the hall, the patio behind it, and two dressing suites, booked together for a 10-hour block with the final hour reserved for cleanup, and every event required to end by midnight.
The building sits inside Cary's downtown core. One rental covers the hall, the patio and the whole night.
The Main Hall
The hall is the room the rental is built around: brick on the walls, white overhead, and the bay doors serving as both windows and a second entrance when they are open. The standard rental furnishes it directly, with 160 cross-back chairs, 22 round tables, 4 rectangular tables, a smaller utility table, 4 cocktail tables, a lounge grouping, and the venue's own bar, so the room's furniture is set before a planner adds anything to it.
The Patio
An 8-foot privacy fence encloses the patio, which opens straight into the hall through the bay doors, so cocktail hour and the reception share one line of sight. Market lights hang over the patio, and the planting along the fence gives the patio its own green.
Getting Ready
Two dressing suites were built for the wedding party: each has a wall of LED mirrors, a mini fridge, quartz counters, and enough outlets to run two parties' worth of styling tools at the same time.
What We Design Here
The bay doors set the light and the brick sets the color, and both change over the course of a day: open at noon they flood the hall and warm the brick to a deep red-brown, closed at night they read as a plain dark wall behind the bar. We build for that light, keeping arrangements dense and warm in tone so the color holds against the brick, and saving real height for the hall, where the ceiling can carry it. On the patio, where the market lights already set the mood, we work lower and looser and let the tables carry the color, so the outdoor hour flows on from the room behind it. Scale matters here more than in a smaller room: with 4,500 square feet and a 13-foot ceiling to fill, arrangements can go tall at the entry and on the bar and still leave guests plenty of room.
Practical
Chatham Station is in downtown Cary, west of Raleigh in the Triangle. Parking is in a U-shaped lot around the building, first-come, first-served, and the venue publishes a separate parking guide on its site for guests who want directions ahead of time. The venue's own events team handles booking, packages, and pricing directly.
