What happens when you send flowers to Apex

Flower delivery in Apex, NC, starts at our workbench in Northwest Raleigh. A person there makes the arrangement when the order comes in, the same as for an address down the street from the studio, and one of our own drivers hands it over at the door. You order online, and checkout checks the recipient's address against our delivery area. Enter your ZIP for the current delivery charge. Before the arrangement leaves the studio, the designer photographs it and sends you the picture. Someone receiving flowers in Apex gets a text when the driver is on the way.

Sunday we stay off the road. An order placed on a Sunday goes out first thing Monday, which is worth knowing if the birthday falls on a Monday and you were planning to get to it over the weekend.

Apex sits at the south end of Kildaire Farm Road

Kildaire Farm Road runs through the middle of Cary like a main street, from Maynard Road down to Apex. WakeMed Cary is on that road, at number 1900. When we can, we pair Cary hospital deliveries with residential orders nearby, so a driver is already headed this direction most days. On the Cary side, MacGregor Downs sits along Cary Parkway, and its greenway, the MacGregor Trail, runs close to Apex Community Park. A run through MacGregor Downs often picks up Lochmere, off Kildaire Farm Road, on the same trip.

We do not offer exact delivery times. If you have a time preference, call us or add it under “Delivery instructions” when you order. We will do our best to accommodate it, though it is a request and never a promise.

The Apex ZIPs, 27502, 27523 and 27539, are all served the same way. For any address you are unsure about, the ZIP check at checkout will tell you whether it is in our area, and when something is time-sensitive you can call or email the studio and get a real update from a person.

Houses with gates and covered porches

At a house, we try to call or text the recipient before the driver arrives, so they know someone is coming. If nobody answers, the arrangement goes somewhere shaded, a covered porch or a neighbor, never into direct sun. We leave a note or send a text saying exactly where it is, and on a particularly hot day we reach out to you as well. Lori Zondag heard how that went from the other end, and wrote in her review about the person she sent to: "She was out and said the florist left a message for her that the flowers had been left outside." If the neighborhood has a gate, put the code in the delivery instructions at checkout, with anything else that helps a stranger find the right door.

Offices in Apex are simpler. Mark the address as commercial at checkout and add the suite number or floor.

A hospital room needs a smaller piece and a full name

We deliver to WakeMed Cary often, for get-well wishes and new babies. The front desk receives the flowers and gets them to the room. Give us the patient's full name. A room number helps, though the hospital can look people up without one, and for a new baby, use the mother's name.

The intensive care, critical care and neonatal units there restrict or prohibit fresh flowers. If you are not sure whether their room allows flowers, call us and we will help sort it out; sometimes the answer is to time the delivery for when they move to a regular room. What we send to a hospital is sized for a bedside table. The vase is a stable one that will not tip if someone bumps the tray, and we keep the scent light, since strong scents in a hospital room are not always welcome. The rest is on our page for flower delivery to WakeMed Cary Hospital.

Order the bigger days a day or two ahead

For the neighbor who has had a week, an order placed before the daily cutoff can go out today. A milestone birthday or an anniversary deserves some lead time. Order a day or two early if you want a specific arrangement on a specific date, and give us a few days for a moment that deserves more. Mother's Day and Valentine's Day fill quickly, so one to two weeks ahead is the safe side there.

Many designs come in Standard, Deluxe and Premium, the same arrangement made larger at each step, and the product page shows which sizes each one is made in. Compare those size options with the spot where it will sit. Milestone occasions almost always call for Deluxe or Premium. A hospital room or a kitchen counter wants the smaller size.

Plenty of our orders are placed from outside North Carolina. If you live in Denver and want to send flowers to Apex for your mother, you enter your billing details and her address, write the card, and the photo reaches you before the arrangement leaves the studio.

Weddings run on a different calendar. Couples planning wedding flowers near Apex can start with the two venues in town that we have written up, The Evermore on Clubhouse Lane and The Oaks at Salem on Old Jenks Road, close to historic downtown Apex and Highway 64. As our weddings page puts it, a year or more ahead is ideal, and six months is very workable. We take a limited number each season, and each one starts with a conversation about the venue and the season. In Holly Springs, The Club at 12 Oaks offers an outdoor garden ceremony or a country club affair indoors, or both over one day.

Leave a minute for the card. It holds up to 300 characters, and we print your words and tuck the card in with the arrangement. Say the specific thing, the job she just started or the new baby's name. Then sign it.

When it has to be today, our page for same-day flower delivery in Apex shows the arrangements our designers can make on short notice, and its ZIP box gives today's cutoff for your address.

Whenever you’re ready, you can order flowers in Raleigh from our studio, each arrangement made by hand.
