Order Valentine's Day flowers in Raleigh one to two weeks before the fourteenth, and send them to the address where your person will actually be that day. You pick the delivery date at checkout. Our own FAQ recommends that lead time for busy holidays, Valentine's Day among them, because those weeks fill quickly. Hidden Door is a delivery-only studio in Northwest Raleigh. Your arrangement is made here, by us, and one of our own drivers takes it out across Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Morrisville, Chapel Hill, Apex, Wake Forest and RTP. The charge for the drive depends on where it ends. Enter your ZIP for the current delivery charge. In 2027 the fourteenth is a Sunday, which changes the plan.
Book the date before the week fills up
Every Valentine's Day arrangement is made fresh when its order comes in. Nothing gets built ahead to sit and wait for a buyer, so the studio fills up in the week before Valentine's Day. Prices climb around the holiday too, as demand outpaces supply.
An order placed ten days out gets a place on a crowded week. Anita conditions everything by hand, trimming and hydrating, before any of it goes near a vase. A statement piece asks for more time again. Our guide to how same-day delivery works in Raleigh puts that down to sourcing, calling in the particular material a design is built around, and sourcing takes a few days.
Color is the quickest way to narrow the shop, and there is a filter for it. Our guide to flower color meanings calls red the most direct color in the floral vocabulary and lists Valentine's Day first among its uses. Light pink is softer and leans toward gentleness and admiration. White has a quiet elegance, and an all-white piece looks intentional in a modern room. If your person has said for years that red feels like a cliché, white is how you show you heard. Pick for the person first and the room second. And if picking is the part you dread, Designer's Choice lets you set the budget and leave the design to us.
Send it where the day will actually be spent
When the fourteenth lands midweek, the office is often the right address for Valentine's Day flower delivery, and an arrangement on a desk gets seen by everyone who walks past it. Mark the address as commercial at checkout and add the suite and floor. If the building runs its mail and deliveries through a front desk, the recipient's full name on the order is what lets the desk find them.
Check the office's hours before you settle on it. If the office closes early on Fridays, home may be the better address from the start.
At home, the recipient gets a text when the driver is on the way. If nobody is home, it goes somewhere shaded, and a note says where. You will have seen it by then, because the designer photographs the finished arrangement and sends you the picture before it leaves the studio. The reaction at the other end is the part you never see. A customer named jessica lange wrote on our reviews page, "...when my husband sent me an arrangement for Valentine’s Day, I absolutely fell in love with the beauty and aesthetics of the arrangement."
When the fourteenth falls on a weekend
We don't deliver on Sundays, and our Saturday hours are shorter. The fourteenth moves through the week from year to year, so in a year like 2027, when it lands on a Sunday, look at the Friday or the Saturday before. At the office, a Friday arrangement gets a full day of people stopping by the desk, and then it goes home for the weekend. Sent to the house on Friday, it is already on the table before the dinner reservation. Saturday works well too, as long as someone will be around to answer the driver's text. In a weekend year, order the full two weeks out.
If the day sneaks up on you anyway, an order the day before can still work. Annette Beckerman wrote in her review, "Anita works hard to accommodate your order even when your order comes late the day before Valentines." She added, "The beautiful arrangement arrived just as she promised." When the fourteenth itself is a delivery day, check your ZIP on our Raleigh same-day delivery page for today's cutoff, and pick from the arrangements our designers can make that day. Keep a late order small. The bigger showpiece, the one you pictured when this first crossed your mind, is the one to order ahead. And in 2027, Monday the fifteenth is a respectable day for a late valentine with a very good card.
Write the card while you still have time
Every order comes with a card message of up to 300 characters, printed and enclosed with the arrangement. The card carries your words and nothing else, and there is no pricing information anywhere in the delivery. Sign your name. If the mystery is the point, leave the name off; we never share sender information with recipients. For the rest of the year, our guide to romantic flowers for her covers the card, the size and the timing on an ordinary week.
Name the place you had your first dinner, or the thing you have been meaning to say since October. "Same table as the first time. Saturday. I already asked for it" fits with plenty of room to spare.
Some designs come in larger sizes too, a Deluxe and a Premium, and the product page lists the sizes each one is made in. If the piece is headed for a narrow office desk or the middle of a wide dining table, compare those size options with the spot where it will sit before you choose.
At checkout you can add Artisan Macarons from Le Petit Amour, a Raleigh baker we work with directly, in a six-pack or a twelve-pack. They come in the same delivery as the arrangement.
If you're the one who will be away, on a work trip or living in another state, the order works the same from anywhere. Enter their Raleigh, Cary, Durham or Chapel Hill address and write the card.
Ten days out is a comfortable place to be. Choose from our Valentine's Day flowers, put the delivery date on the order, and give the card the rest of the week.
