The Raleigh Marriott Crabtree Valley is a hotel built to run a large event well, and a wedding here reads that way from the first hour: a dedicated ballroom, an open-air foyer off the ballrooms, and a staff whose job is exactly this.

The Glenwood Terrace
Glenwood Terrace is an outdoor space of 3,944 square feet that holds up to 80 guests for a reception. It is the hotel's answer to an outdoor cocktail hour or a small outdoor ceremony, a change of air between the ceremony and the dinner that follows inside.
What We Design Here
The Glenwood's 18-foot ceiling and its 125-foot length are the two numbers that set the plan. In the Glenwood Ballroom, low centerpieces disappear under that much air, so we build up: tall arrangements at the tables, structural work over the head table or the dance floor, an aisle treatment that reads from the back row as clearly as the front, with room enough along the length of it to repeat the same gesture more than once. The room's own lighting runs warm, which flatters deep, saturated color and rich, textured greenery.
The Crabtree Ballroom, being lower and tighter, takes the opposite approach well: denser, closer work at eye level, where guests sit close enough to enjoy every bit of texture. On the terrace, we work looser and more textural, in low, weighted vessels that stay steady in the open air, with nothing tall enough to compete with the sky above them.
