Chapel Hill, thirty minutes down I-40
Every Chapel Hill order is made in our studio in Northwest Raleigh and driven over by one of our own drivers. From the workbench to UNC Medical Center is about thirty minutes on I-40, and our team is on that road regularly. Before the arrangement leaves, the designer photographs it and sends you the picture, so you see exactly what is on its way. Enter the recipient's ZIP on this page to see today's timing and the current delivery charge for their street. From Southern Village to campus and the hospital, our Chapel Hill florist knows the way.
Most of our Chapel Hill deliveries go to homes, to campus apartments and to the hospital. Southern Village, just off US 15-501 on the town's southern edge, is a favorite run: the houses sit close to the street, the front porches face the sidewalk, and a covered porch is right there to hold the flowers if nobody is home. Market Street, the village's main street, has apartments and offices above its restaurants and shops; for one of those upstairs rooms, add the suite or unit number in the delivery details and our driver goes straight to the right door.
Closer to campus, Franklin Street and the neighborhoods around it are full of students, faculty and the families visiting them. For a student, put the full name and unit number on the order and give us a mobile number they actually answer, because that is where the driver's text goes. If the building has a front desk or a package room, say so in the delivery instructions, and ask your student where deliveries usually land before you order. On the edge of campus, The Carolina Inn on Pittsboro Street has 185 guest rooms, so a whole wedding weekend can stay under one roof.
For a patient at UNC Medical Center, flowers go to the front desk and the hospital routes them to the room. The cancer center and the children's hospital each keep their own routing, so name the building on the order, and give the patient's full name so the desk can find them. Some units, intensive care among them, keep fresh flowers out for health reasons; our page on flower delivery to UNC Medical Center lists them in one place, and if a patient is moving to a step-down unit we can time the delivery for the day they arrive.
A good share of our Chapel Hill orders come from outside North Carolina: parents sending something to a son or daughter at the university, grandparents marking a birthday from two time zones away. You order the same way you would from down the street. Give us the address and your card message and we take it from there. The confirmation comes only to you, the card is printed and tucked in with no branding on it, and the recipient sees flowers, not a price. Sign the card, so nobody spends the evening texting relatives to find out who sent them.
When no one answers the door, the driver finds shade: a covered porch, a building lobby, a front desk or a neighbor, with a note or a text saying where to look. You get an email when the flowers are out for delivery and another when they have arrived.
Chapel Hill suits the small news as much as the big days. The exam went well, the defense is done, or it is simply a Tuesday and she sounded tired on the phone. For a milestone birthday or a thank-you to the professor who wrote the letter, consider going up a size: many designs come in Deluxe and Premium, larger versions of the same arrangement. If someone else on your list lives at the Durham end of US 15-501, our Durham page covers that side, and both orders leave the same studio.
