Flowers make a good graduation gift, and they do best at the house on the day of the ceremony, or at the party afterward. Our studio is in Northwest Raleigh. We make graduation flowers in Raleigh there, and every graduation flower delivery goes out by hand with one of our own drivers, to Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Cary, Apex, Morrisville, Wake Forest, Rolesville and RTP. The price of the drive depends on where the graduate is. Enter your ZIP for the current delivery charge. Order a day or two ahead if you have a date in mind. If the idea only came to you this morning, the same-day Raleigh page shows today's cutoff for your ZIP.
Stadium seats are a hard place to hold a vase
The big university ceremonies here happen in stadiums. NC State has held commencement at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh, UNC at Kenan Stadium and Duke at Wallace Wade Stadium. The dates move around, so look up this year's on the university's commencement page. In 2025 the ceremonies at Carter-Finley and Kenan also ran stadium bag policies, one more reason to leave the vase at home. High schools around the Triangle keep calendars of their own.
So send the flowers to wherever the graduate will be before the ceremony or after it. That might be the family home, where everyone lines up for photos on the front steps, or the house hosting the party that weekend. An arrangement already sitting on the dining table when the graduate walks in, cap still on, is the first thing they see.
If the graduate is still living near campus that week, those streets are on our routes. In Durham we deliver to apartments near Duke's East Campus, to Trinity Park near Duke University and to Duke Forest along the edge of West Campus, and our drivers have learned their way around the gate codes and apartment complexes. Closer to home, Southwest Raleigh takes in Hillsborough Street, Western Boulevard and NC State. Chapel Hill wraps around the UNC campus, and our team makes the drive out along I-40 regularly. For any student address, put the unit number and the gate code in the delivery note. Use the graduate's full name too, so a roommate or a front desk knows who it belongs to.
Ceremony days start early
We do not offer exact delivery times. If you have a time preference, call us or add it under “Delivery instructions” when you order. We will do our best to accommodate it, though it is a request and never a promise.
When the driver is on the way, the recipient gets a text, which gives someone the minute they need to get to the door. If nobody answers, the driver sets it in the shade, on the porch or with a neighbor, and leaves a note. On a warm afternoon in May that matters. You get an email when the order is placed, when it is out for delivery and when it has been delivered.
Look at the day of the week before you choose. Sunday is not a delivery day for us. Duke's 2025 commencement fell on a Sunday, and a graduation party can too, so for those, pick Saturday. The flowers are in the house before the day starts, and nobody has to listen for the doorbell while they hunt for the car keys.
School colors are the easy start
For school colors, the simplest route is Designer's Choice. You pick the size (it has its own five, Classic to Grand), leave the palette in the note at checkout, and the designer builds a one-of-a-kind piece around it from what came in that day. One customer, alison sadler, had ordered from Hidden Door before, and her review says that "...while looking for a unique arrangement for my Nieces’ graduation, I found them again". Of the work itself she wrote, "Love the style and unique arrangements these guys produce". Bright warm mixes read as celebration from across a crowded party. A graduate heading into a first job and a first lease might like something calmer, one color, for the new kitchen counter. If you would sooner choose from a photo, the full collection filters by color.
The rest of the collection comes in up to three sizes, Standard, Deluxe and Premium, and each product page lists the ones that design is made in. Compare those options with the spot where it will sit, whether that is the party table next to the cake or a narrow counter in a first apartment. For a milestone, Deluxe or Premium is almost always the right call, and a graduation counts. Each step up is the same design, fuller and taller. If you want the Premium built around something particular, order a few days ahead so the studio can source it properly; the party centerpiece is worth that lead time.
A graduation bouquet often means something handheld, passed over after the ceremony. Ours arrive already in a vessel picked to suit the design, so nobody at the party has to go looking for a vase.
The card has room for 300 characters, and whatever you write is printed on it with nothing added. A graduate reads a stack of cards that week, and the ones that stick name something small, like the late night you drove them back to the dorm or the test they were sure they had failed. Sign your name. The checkout reminds you to, and a graduate opening a dozen gifts deserves to know which one is yours. If the flowers are headed to the party, Artisan Macarons from a Raleigh-based baker can ride along in the same delivery, added at checkout.
Grandparents in another state can send it too
Maybe the graduate's grandmother cannot make the flight, or a parent moved away after the graduate started school here. Ordering from a distance works the same way it does locally. Enter the graduate's Raleigh, Durham or Chapel Hill address, write the card, and the studio handles the rest.
From far away, the photograph is what helps most. We make it when the order comes in and send you a photo of it before one of our drivers carries it out. For a grandparent following the day from another state, that photo is their first look at the gift, and the last email tells them it reached the door. If the graduate is in Durham, our Durham delivery page covers the neighborhoods we serve around Duke and downtown.
Tonight, look up this year's date on the school's commencement page and settle on the one address where the graduate will be that morning. Then pick the arrangement from our graduation flowers and write the card while the pride is still fresh.
